About Ian
I look like this, I swear!
Telling a story clearly and effectively isn’t always easy—that’s where I come in. I’m Ian, and for well over a decade I’ve refined my craft across multiple creative disciplines, including design, illustration, 3D, and most importantly motion. My goal is to help every client communicate their vision with clarity, creativity, and impact. I believe great work should go beyond “good enough” and strive for something memorable.
Based in New Orleans, I spend my free time performing sketch and improv comedy, playing video games, and hunting down the worst movies imaginable.
If you’re wondering, “MK” stands for Makaiwa Kealoha, a Hawaiian name passed down through my family. In Hawaiian, it roughly translates to: “Like the eye of the black seagull, so is our love.” Long middle names are a tradition on the Hawaiian side of my family, often inherited from an elder.
In 2006 my parents gave me a DV camcorder and I started making stop motion animations with my dry erase board. It was shortly after that I found After Effects and well… here we are. Hope you enjoy this little look back.
